Clinical Significance: Approximately 80% of the body’s copper is bound to Ceruloplasmin. Ceruloplasmin is an acute phase reactant. Concentrations are decreased in approximately 75% of patients with Wilson disease, an autosomal recessive disorder of copper metabolism.
